Internship

Job Description

Studio GdB was founded in 2021 with the aim to make bespoke glazed ceramic tile design accessible. We launched the first version of our surface design system that same year, allowing our clients to create designs for the places they work and live in. By being design first, innovation forward and quality obsessed we offer an extension of our clients’ creativity, at any scale.

We are offering an internship in our studio. If you are excited about being part of our studio, helping us with production whilst experimenting alongside our designers - please don't hesitate to apply!

Activities and projects

  • Interns can perform daily design experiments within the boundaries of our running production system.
  • We offer you the means to do vast amounts of experiments with ceramic glazes. We fire daily, and this allows for quick iteration and many results. We have no oldskool knowledge of glazes, and our approach is to make mistakes fast and stumble upon workable solutions.
  • You aid in the running of production activities that all our team members are involved in, printing tiles, preparing glaze, and cleaning after yourself.
  • Due to our small-scale operation, you get a view of all tasks involved in running a studio, we have no secrets. Think of shipping, accounting and all other (less exotic) but essential parts of running a studio.

Skills required

We require no predefined set of skills. We do require a display of honest interest in learning about our processes and in developing ceramic glazes. Our ceramic glaze recipes are simple, easy to learn and experiment with. We’d much rather see one good project in another field combined with a solid motivation to join us than years of experience in the making of glaze. If you display an appetite for learning, we can show you how to take your designs into production and start your own brand.

Allowance

Monthly allowance of €500,- plus lunch and a bicycle in Den Bosch.

Location

Our studio is based in Den Bosch at 10 minutes' cycling distance from the central station and easily reachable by car.

Hours

The internship is a full time position of 40 hours a week.
We currently don't have any specific period in mind but prefere to have internships last at least 3 months.
