Lead Visual Designer

Job Description

About Gemic

Gemic
is a global consultancy specializing in business strategy and innovation. We help leading organizations drive sustainable growth by applying human-centered design to emerging cultural, business, and technological shifts. Our teams combine social science and strategy to deliver impactful, design-led solutions.

About the Role

As Lead Visual Designer, you will transform complex insights into clear, engaging visual stories that illuminate key findings, systems, and opportunities. Your work will help articulate the intangible—such as beliefs, social behaviors, and technology relationships—making them accessible and actionable for clients.

You’ll also play a crucial role in shaping our brand across platforms, fostering a strong internal design culture, and championing design excellence at Gemic.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and maintain Gemic’s brand identity across all outputs.
  • Produce clear, persuasive visual deliverables (presentations, data visualizations, websites, videos, illustrations, GenAI outputs).
  • Develop visual systems for both client projects and Gemic’s brand.
  • Mentor and guide junior designers; manage external design resources.
  • Present and explain visual strategies to internal teams and clients.
  • Facilitate creative brainstorming, prototyping, and collaboration sessions.
  • Oversee the quality and consistency of all design work.
  • Support recruitment and training of designers and freelancers.
  • Optimize design resource planning and workflow.

Who We’re Looking For

  • 4+ years’ experience in visual, information, or UX/UI design.
  • Strong portfolio showing information/data visualization and web/UX/UI design.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Suite, Figma, PowerPoint, Google Slides, and Miro.
  • Familiarity with everyday workflow tools (SharePoint, OneDrive, Google Suite, Notion, Slack).
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident managing multiple projects and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strategic thinker able to judge and recommend the best medium for the message.
  • Detail-oriented, quality-driven, and always seeking improvement.
  • Willing to be based in Berlin (relocation required if not already located there).

Nice-to-Have

  • Skills in illustration, 3D, or generative AI design.
  • Basic CSS and/or print design experience.
  • Previous experience leading or managing junior team members.
  • Excellent grasp of brand identity principles.

What We Offer

  • €630 annual Learning & Development stipend.
  • 25 vacation days, 2 personal days, 11 paid public holidays.
  • Company MacBook Pro.
  • High-impact work with world-class organizations.
  • The chance to help shape a fast-growing company.

Ready to help us visualize the future?
