Tinloof is looking for a Senior Brand Designer to join the team for the upcoming months to work on new projects. We're looking for someone who loves creating distinctive brand identities and conceptualizing web experiences. We're after someone who can both have conceptual thinking and a vision for the project direction, and a microscopical attention to detail.
The role is fully remote, therefore a strong Internet connection and stable working conditions are expected. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
Requirements
- Conceptual thinking: Ability to absorb a brand strategy, translate it into a creative vision, and ensure every element produced speaks the same visual language.
- Visual craft: Strong foundation in brand identity design, including color, typography, iconography, motion language, and photography, with a keen eye for how each element contributes to a cohesive whole.
- Systems thinking: Ability to build a visual language that scales: one the brand can extend beyond initial applications, and one the client can confidently carry forward across channels.
- Typography sensitivity: Deep appreciation for type, the ability to use it expressively across different tones of messaging, and openness to collaborating with Type Designers.
- Web fluency: Solid understanding of how design translates to the browser; responsiveness, accessibility, grids, and interactions, with the ability to make identity decisions that hold up well on websites and apps.
- Agency experience: 5+ years in a design or branding studio.
- Collaboration: Comfortable working closely with Creative Directors, Design Engineers, Motion Designers, Type Designers, clients, and the wider team.
- Industry versatility: Experience across different industries and client sizes.
- Clear communication: Strong English skills to present work confidently and compellingly to clients and stakeholders.
- Reliable remote setup: A stable Internet connection that supports seamless remote collaboration.
- Case study mindset: Willingness to document completed projects as case studies, in collaboration with the team.
Team setup
- The Brand Designer is client-facing and owns both the execution and presentation of the work.
- A Creative Director is available to support them throughout the project.
- Design Engineers collaborate closely, both at the concept stage and during web frame execution and reviews.
- Most projects also involve a Motion Designer and a Type Designer, with 3D Artists, Photographers, or Illustrators contributing depending on the project's nature.
Logistics
Location: Fully remote.
Working hours: UTC overlap required.
Contract type: Freelance contract.
Project management: No traditional PMs. Team members are responsible for managing their own task, communicating directly with the clients, and providing weekly updates.
Start date: As soon as possible. New projects are kicking off by mid-April.
Hiring process
- Send your portfolio via the form below.
- If it's a match, we'll reach out for an intro chat on Google Meet.
- If there's mutual interest, we'll kick off with a paid starter project (one to two weeks on an existing internal project).
- From there, we move into client work together.
